Registration

Riders are encouraged to pre-register for all events. Pre-registration is accepted for brevets up to one week before the event. Day-of-ride entries for brevets will be accepted, but a surcharge is imposed (see below). No acknowledgment of entry will normally be sent out. Please contact us if you need to confirm your entry has been received. Cue sheets and maps are handed out to all registered riders at the start of the event. Please enclose a stamped, addressed envelope with your entry if you need a hard copy of the cue sheet before the event. We regret that cue sheets can be provided only to registered riders, but a basic map of each route can be viewed from the Calendar page.

Fees

We have to charge entry fees for most events to cover our expenses. We try to keep these as low as possible, and run the events at break even. Our fee structure for 2011 is as follows:

200, 300 and 400km ACP brevets: $10.

600km ACP brevet: $20. This fee includes a bag drop to Richland Center, WI.

1000km ACP brevet: $50. This fee includes a bag drop to Ida Grove and Estherville.

Day-of-ride registration: $5 surcharge. While we always welcome day-of-ride registrants, the fact is that pre-registration does make our lives easier, as we then know how many cue sheets and brevet cards to print, and there is less work for us at the check-in.

Medals: We no longer deal with medals. RUSA members wishing to obtain a medal for an event should now do this directly from the souvenir shop on the RUSA web site.

Populaires and RUSA brevets: mostly free! This is our way to give back to the local cycling community.

The above fees are all laid out on the registration form. Bottom line is, if you pre-register for the complete Iowa Brevet Series (200, 300, 400, 600km), it will cost you $50. This is much better value than typical USAC race fees, especially in miles/$!

EVERY RIDER IS REQUIRED TO SIGN THE RELEASE FORM. The release form will be provided to sign at the start of each event, and doubles as a sign-in sheet.
